Scientific research to be conducted into migration and territory range
The Department of the Interior announced on Friday that the next round of grant recipients had been chosen, and over $3 million in funding would be provided for scientific research into the migration patterns and territorial range of big game in the United States. Big game in the U.S. migrates across thousands of miles of federal, state, and local lands. The understanding of these movements will help coordination between different departments.
Secretary Bernhardt said in a released statement, “Big-game species such as deer, elk, and pronghorn contribute to the West’s quality of life and provide hunting and wildlife viewing opportunities. These grants will help states further their scientific research to ensure sustainable wildlife populations.” In total, 19 projects will be funded through grants from the Department of the Interior.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would lead Secretary Bernhardt to be an effective leader of the Interior Department.
- For the Trump Administration to better understand the migration patterns of big game in the U.S. through this research.
- For the Interior Department to work effectively with other landholders for the protection of the environment.
